Officials from Main Internal Affairs Office of Ukraine in Kharkov region have discovered the embezzlement of 1.1 mln hryvnyas of budget funds by State Highway Service of Ukraine, by its regional subdivision in Kharkov in particular. As informed chief of Main Internal Affairs Office of Ukraine in Kharkov region Vladimir Frolov, the funds were attracted through State guarantees within the framework of carrying out State program for organization Euro-2012.

According to Mr. Frolov, in the process of check-up by police was found out that Kharkov Regional Highways officials have drawn a contractor (one of JSC in Kiev) which during its work process raised too high the cost equal to the stated amount.

Investigation board of Main Internal Affairs Office of Ukraine in Kharkov region instituted proceedings on malversation of funds or property embezzlement.

Former head of National Agency for organization Euro-2012 Yevgeny Chervonenko commented upon liquidation of his Agency.

“Today the Government hit not Mr. Cervonenko bur Europe Championship in Ukraine. It hurts to see it. How can one eliminate the Agency which has developed integrated program for the Championship organization, elaborated the bills which the Government is reluctant to adopt? They just don’t need the laws” - claimed Mr. Chervonenko.

“In our Agency work 70 staff workers who can speak three languages and didn’t used to take bribes. All our propositions are considered in the President’s last decree. However, Cabinet of Ministers and Ministries aren’t inviting us to the meetings dedicated to airports, stadiums and other conferences on Euro-2012. Still we’re going on with our business” - he noted.

“National Agency is very much hampering those who try to introduce their contractors hors concours. We wouldn’t like to share resources but you need to understand all the mess happening during political crisis - while the governments change several times a year, the body responsible for organization of Euro-2012 is winded up. Well, Euro-2012 is a management project which has to operate regardless of any political power” - claimed head of National Agency.

On Wednesday, November 19 by decision of the Cabinet was liquidated National Agency for Europe Championship 2012 organization. Leaving the meeting President of Football Federation of Ukraine Grigory Surkis informed mass-media of such decision.

While answering the question if he can confirm information on the decision made to liquidate National Agency for Europe Championship 2012 organization Grigory Surkis said it was true.

At the instigation of I. Vasyunik during the session of the government there was considered resolution plan on improving management system of organization and hosting Euro-2012.

National Agency of Ukraine for organization and hosting Euro-2012 was created in August 2007. In December 2007 Cabinet of Ministers assigned Yevgeny Chervonenko as a chairman of the National Agency.

From now on Organizational Committee under the leadership of Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko is preparing Ukraine for Euro-2012.

Police of Donetsk has elaborated work improvement project for its agency for Euro-2012. The project includes development of unique center managing police duties which patrol the city.

As stated head of Main Internal Affairs Office of Ukraine in Donetsk region Nikolay Kupyansky, unique center for police duty management, necessary for effective coordination of all powers involved in providing public order during Football Championship will operate under municipal police office.

To create the center there’re needed about 5 mln hryvnyas. The program includes foreign languages trainings for the policemen.

On Tuesday, November 18 First Deputy Minister for Regional Development and Building Anatoly Berkuta made public reconstruction works cost for Olimpiyskiy NSC.According to feasibility study of reconstruction works the cost made 2.184 bln hryvnyas.

Mr. Berkuta expressed his idea that stadium construction would be carried out by Ukrainian company:”We’re certainly able to erect this stadium for we have more than one powerful building company. If you ask me what company, I’ll name you a powerful Kievgorstroy company”. Among the companies which can participate in building the stadium Mr. Berkuta has also mentioned Ukrmonolitspetsbud and Steelconstruction.
