These days Gazeta Polska published the information about UEFA inspectors’ reports, witnessing the probability of loosing Euro-2012 by Poland and Ukraine. The reason is lack of progress in preparation for the Championship final. The Polish edition informs about receiving the latest UEFA report, which evaluates preparation progress of Ukraine and Poland for Euro-2012 in color scheme. White means favorable investment climate, green color means the works are going as planned, red is a warning. Warsaw and Hozhuv, where preparation for Euro-2012 is going too slowly are highlighted in red. The city, preparing best of all for the Championship is Krakow. Gazeta Polska claims Ukraine has far more problems than Poland, namely hotels, roads and stadiums reconstruction. In UEFA report Ukraine is colored densely in red. Though UEFA hasn’t any alternative plan for holding Euro-2012 in other country there are more and more talks as to carry some Championship events from Ukraine to Poland. But Minister of Sports in Poland Miroslaw Drzewiecki has assured in public that his country isn’t searching for new Euro-2012 host-partner instead of Ukraine. Minister has also denied the information that Poland is exploring the possibility of organizing the final together with Germany. Earlier Polish mass-media informed that the UEFA was studying the possibility of transferring most of the Euro-2012 matches, initially planned to be held in Ukraine to Poland. Meanwhile there emerged hope for full-fledged visa free regime to be introduced between Ukraine and EU till Euro-2012, as stated Konstantin Yeliseyev, deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, during the session of Verkhovna Rada committee on European integration. “As to visa free regime, our benchmark is Euro-2012 in Ukraine and Poland” – informed Mr. Yeliseyev. In order to achieve the goal Ukrainian government is actively working on intensifying negotiations with EU in this domain.
