As stated Joseph Vinskiy, Minister of Transport and Communications, the Cabinet has passed design of metro line construction in Donetsk, total estimated cost of which makes 5.6 bln hryvnjas.

According to the Minister metro line building terms are dragged out. “The terms are dragged out, so we’ll be done by Euro-2012″ – he noted.

Mr. Vinskiy said this project supposes building metro line from Olimpiyskiy stadium up to Proletarskaya station and rail yard

Among Ukrainian cities the subway operates in Kiev, Kharkov and Dnepropetrovsk. Metro construction in Donetsk started in1992 but the process is still underway.

UEFA experts have approved Lvov’s report on preparation of the stadium and training grounds for Euro-2012 as informed in his comments to ZAXID.NET on August, 19 Oleg Zasadnuy, director of Euro-2012 department for Lvov municipal council after meeting with the UEFA inspectors in Kiev.

According to Mr. Zasadnuy the experts demanded Lvov municipal council to prepare some more technical documents for Euro-2012 stadium. After the documents are presented in the objects preparation for Euro-2012 rating scale the risk mark for stadium preparation in Lvov will be switched from high risk to average. Oleg Zasadnuy added that today was the last visit of UEFA experts to Ukraine as to preparation for Euro-2012 before September, 25 when UEFA executive office looks through the report of Ukraine’s preparation for the Championship.

Lvov’s Public Forum states Lvov residents don’t protest against holding the Championship in their city besides Public Forum hasn’t put forward any statements related to the issue.

Last night at its press-conference Lvov’s Public Forum stood against building stadium for Euro-2012 for municipal budget money without considering public opinion and stated the decision should be made through referendum only.

Such conclusion was made by Forum’s officials after there were made public the results of residents’ poll where 60% of Lvov’s population said they were against building stadium for city’s money.

Earlier German wave informed Lvov’s non-governmental organizations initiate referendum on refusing to host matches Euro-2012 in the city.

The information is corrected at the moment.

On August, 18 in Lvov heading works were started at the stadium for Euro-2012 building site.

President of Football Federation of Ukraine Grigoriy Surkis is strongly denying today’s statement of Andrey Kislinskiy, head deputy of Secretariat of President about his involvement in allegedly created with Moscow support “Elections-2010” center, the aim of which is the victory of Yulia Timoshenko at the presidential elections. It was mentioned in G. Surkis’ statement, passed on to RBC-Ukraine info-agency, the text of which is proposed below.

“It was one year ago right after our victory in Cardiff that I’ve clearly and definitely claimed about my life priorities for 5 years to come. In numerous interviews on this issue I drew public attention to the point that all the FFU employees without exception and me as a head are indifferent to politics as none of the political projects can bring such dividends which Euro-2012 will really bring. From that time on I didn’t change my political views. So I ask not to speculate on my name and not to draw my attention away from urgent issues on preparation the European Football Championship final Euro-2012. As to blaming me in national interests’ treachery it’s definitely not about me ‘cause the real treachery and offence to present and future generations will be our loosing Euro-2012 project. I’ve declared this openly to our state’s government and can say it once again”.

After reconstruction the number of spectators’ seats in “Olimpiyskiy” NSC will reduce to 73 thousand, as stated Christian Hoffmann, the official of architectural office for German GMP von Gerkan, Marg und Partner, which designs the reconstruction project for Olimpiyskiy NSC.

“Champion” edition informs according to Mr. Hoffmann the stadium’s upper tier will have new covering after the reconstruction and lower tier will be totally rebuilt. “The major request facing us as architects is preserving the stadium’s upper tier. So we’ve decided to construct the overhead cover which is separated from the upper tier and stadium’s supporting framework. On the basis of this we’ve got a light membrane covering of upper tier” – said C. Hoffmann.

At the same time Mr. Hoffmann defined more exactly that only the stands will be under the cover, while playing field remains in the open air. According to his estimates reconstruction project cost will make $300 mln, and project works cost is 10% of this sum.

It will be recalled that Olimpiyskiy NSC state enterprise has signed contract on stadium reconstruction with architectural office for German GMP von Gerkan, Marg und Partner.

In June Prosecutor General’s Office appealed against the decision of bid competition for best design plan of Olimpiyskiy NSC reconstruction. Prosecutor General’s Office appealed against bid panel’s decision to allow “Archasia Design Group Limited” Company participating in the bids and its winning the tender.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine supported decision on breaking off the talks with Taiwanese “Archаsia Design Group” Company and negotiating with other bids participants as to Olimpiyskiy NSC reconstruction.
