For Euro-2012 in Ukraine build stadiums with brand-new technologies

For Euro-2012 in Ukraine there’re being built stadiums equipped with the most up-to-date technologies, as informed Machey Krol, manager of Svettekhnika marketing department, during achievement presentation of 15-year activity of PHILIPS Company in Ukrainian market.

Commenting on Company’s participation in equipping football stadiums in Dnepropetrovsk and Donetsk he noted though the projects are previewed by owner for using in Euro-2012, they are prepared for football clubs to host there multi-level matches. Speaking about technical details of Arena-Dniper project, Machey Krol noted that without taking in consideration stadium’s architectural characteristics, professionals have proposed end-to-end solution. There’s been used above 200 metal-halide lamps which provide necessary lighting level of football ground.

Earlier it was mentioned the general cost of new Arena-Dniper stadium project makes EUR 45 mln. It’s designed for 31.003 seats, its field size has standard 105*68 hectares. Journalists have 219 seats in their mass-media suite, and V.I.P. zone may seat 292 people. There’s restaurant for 550 visitors and two visual screens 60 m2 each.

Donetsk railway Company developed two projects for Euro-2012

Donetsk railway Company has developed two investment projects for Euro-2012, as told Yuriy Zaporozhtsev, chairman of suburb passenger traffic Agency for Donetsk railway.

- It’s been proposed reconstruction project of existing airport,- says Yuriy Zaporozhtsev. - We need 670 mln hryvnyas for its implementation. There’s previewed development of railway, passenger and cargo equipment. The project is completely developed and investor’s already defined. Its coming into life will start in December. Besides, there was created building project of new airport costing 3.5 bln hryvnjas. It’ll provide passenger traffic service.

Airports in Donetsk region are being prepared for Euro-2012

Airports of Donetsk region are being prepared for Euro-2012. Reconstruction project for Donetsk airport is already developed.

As informed Vasiliy Pilyuk, chairman of Economics Office for “Donetsk” International airport, the project previews building new takeoff and landing strip and also reconstruction of air terminal complex which includes construction of new building.

According to Mr. Pilyuk, running project is part of preparation program of Donetsk region for Euro-2012. Financing of takeoff-landing strip construction is supposed to be received from state budget. Concerning new airport building construction and reconstruction of the old one, they’ll be sponsored by investors. Today all the required papers are being prepared for holding the bids where investor for the project will be found.

“It’s planned to announce the bids in mid-December and in 30 days period investor will be defined. The major condition is meeting UEFA requirements, in particular, reception of 35.000 fans. Heading works before the project implementation will start in January, 2009″ - underlined Igor Koval, vice-chairman of Donetsk regional council.

Reconstruction of airport complex will make 384.3 mln hryvnyas. Takeoff-landing strip will be ready to receive planes in 2009, as to airport complex, it will be operating in December, 2011. After its reconstruction “Donetsk” International airport will receive 1.500 passengers per hour. However, that’s not enough, so at present negotiations are held concerning cooperation with Lugansk region. Maryupol airport will also be engaged. Besides Donetsk regional council doesn’t rule out creation of temporary terminals.

Donbass-Arena is ready for hosting Euro-2012 final

As stated Alexander Atamanenko, Donbass-Arena will be ready to host Europe Championship 2012 playoff. Though Mr. Atamanenko hopes reconstruction of Olimpiyskiy NSC (which is main nominal arena of Euro-2012 - edit.) is finished in time and the match will be held in Ukraine’s capital.

Mr. Atamanenko has also added official opening ceremony of Donbass-Arena and its nearby park zone will take place next summer. According to stadium manager, opening ceremony of new arena will be grand holiday which can be compared with Olympic Games opening ceremony.

Now the talks are held with European Football Clubs to participate in opening match in Donbass-Arena. As said A. Atamanenko at present they hold negotiations with four leading European Clubs at once. It’s also planned to give concert with world stage super-stars, their names are kept in secret yet.

New stadium will be in 92 % covered, and one of the main adornments will be personal suite of its owner Rinat Akhmetov, designed for 60 V.I.P. guests.

At the moment, according to the manager, construction of Donbass-Arena is completed at 84 %.

Euro-2012: Khozhuw may replace Lvov

The representative of Polish Euromonitor organization Mihal Kobosko has declared situation with construction of new arena in Lvov can become the reason why Polish Khozhuw can take place of Lvov as the basic city for Euro-2012.  

“Stuation in Ukraine is very unstable, and this increases chances of Poland and Khozhuw for the organization of Euro matches “, - has told Mihal Kobosko. The basis for such statement of Euromonitor activist is claim of Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) that Lvov may lose the right for organization of Euro-2012 and absence of progress in stadium and the city airport construction.  

In the meantime, in Khozhuw was presented final part of sports object. Construction should be finished by the end of 2011. “Only then the stadium will become the best arena in the country. The plan of works provides reconstruction of the western stands as a result fans’ evacuation from stadium will take not 17 minutes, but no more than 10 minutes”, - told Marek Scherbovsky, director of Polish arena.  
 The question on stadium construction in Lvov still remains open. After German Alpine Bau Gmbh company has refused to participate in project in the beginning of October, there was further information, that the stadium will be built by Azovinteks company, however no details yet. This uncertainty also became the reason for Poland to find substitute city to Lvov as a place for carrying out Euro-2012 matches
