Euro-2012 News Online

On Wednesday, October 29, in a conference hall of the House of football will pass the international seminar Euro-2012-Security Organization, informs FFU.

This action was held by the FFU and the Delegate Bureau of German economy in Ukraine.  

The meeting is aimed at creation of joint activities between Ukrainian and German experts concerning security organization during hosting Euro-2012 on the basis of experience of carrying out World football Championship final in Germany in 2006 and granting to Ukraine necessary methodological and organizational help in preparation for carrying out Continental forum-2012.

Germany will be represented by Helmut Schpan, head of preventive delinquency and security department, general representative FIFA on WCh-2006, of police of Cologne adviser Andreas Morbakh, and Jorg Rock, head of security department for the Senate of internal affairs and sports of Berlin.

Ukrainian participants in the seminar are reps of regional organizing committees, professionals from Ministry of the Interior, Security Service of Ukraine, National Agency on Euro-2012 issues, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, of Economy, of family, youth and sport of Ukraine.

To a seminar are invited Grigory Surkis, President of Football Federation, vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Ivan Vasyunik, representatives of Secretariat of the President, the delegate of German economy in Ukraine - Karin Rau , Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany in Ukraine Hans Jurgen Gejmzot.  

Earlier it was informed that Poland suggests to Ukraine exchange the information on people involved in disorders at the stadiums during football matches within preparation framework for Europe Football Championship 2012 .

Polish authorities continue attacking Football Federation of the country, having blocked accounts of this organization.  

The representative of the Warsaw tax chamber has declared, that accounts of Football Federation of Poland have been frozen because of nonpayment of taxes at a rate of 10 million zlotys ($ 3,2 million), informs AP. According to the official, only some amount of money is blocked.

In mass-media opinion, the reason for account blocking is that in three days will be held election to the Polish Football Association s on supervising posts, thus authorities want to put organization under pressure.  
 

On September 29, minister of sports of Poland Miroslaw Drziewecky sent in resignation management of Polish Football Association which contradicts to the rules of UEFA and FIFA, forbidding any state intervention in national federations’ activity.

Polish government accused Federation management as well as its President Mihal Listkewich of corruption that has generated juicy scandal because of which Poland might lose the right of carrying out final part of Euro-2012.  

On Wednesday, October 29, the President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko will make a working trip to Donetsk region where he’ll take part in work of the ninth Ukraine - Poland forum during which questions of preparation of two countries for Euro-2012 will be discussed.  

During the Forum Presidents of Poland and Ukraine will address to representatives of business circles and structures, as informs the press-service of the President of Ukraine.

Also negotiations between leaders of two countries concerning preparation for carrying out of a final part of Europe Championship 2012 are expected.  
 

Presidents of Ukraine and Poland will also get acquainted with construction progress of Donbass-Arena stadium which is to be set in operation following year.  

Architect urban planning council for Ministry of Regional Development and Building in Ukraine has adopted conception of reconstruction of main arena for Euro-2012 - Olimpiyskiy NSC. “Today, virtually, the council passed conception of stadium project and recommended to its designers keep working in this direction” - told to IA Interfax-Ukraine Vyacheslav Negoda, deputy Minister for Regional Development and Building in Ukraine.

According to him there’s also been adopted decision to pass inquiry to Ministry of Family, Youth and Sport, and to Kiev State municipal administration to restore the territory in due time assigned to Republican stadium (Olimpiyskiy NSC).

Before the Republican stadium territory consisted of 36 hectares. Nowadays its area’s been reduced to 17 hectares.

Mounting works for major arena (Olimpiyskiy NSC) reconstruction will start on December 1^st, 2008. Dismantling works of Troitskiy shopping mall ground level were finished on October, 15.

Minister of the Interior Yuriy Lutsenko expressed his opinion that among all Ukrainian cities Lvov is the worst one to prepare for Euro-2012. According to him best indicators in championship preparation process have Donetsk and Dnepropetrovsk. Mr. Lutsenko claimed this during round table meeting having as topic “Political and economic crisis in Ukraine”.

In his turn, answering the questions posed by the journalists if police officers hold information on Euro-2012 sabotage by Lvov chairman Andrey Sadovuy and passing over the right for hosting Football Championship to Kharkov Yuriy Lutsenko stated Ministry of the Interior hasn’t information on conspiracy between officials of these cities aiming to pass on the right for hosting Europe Championship matches.

“We’ve got live data, which is being thoroughly examined, that the only place for building stadium in Lvov has been bought up by city council officials so that later to mortgage the money for buying-out the land to build stadium” - informed Minister of the Interior.

“Out of 200 mln hryvnyas of prior project cost for building the stadium 40 mln make buying-out of the land from private individuals who’ve bought it before, that is officials” - noted the Minister.

We remind that Lvov is one of 6 applicant cities to host Europe Football Championship final 2012.

In November has to start construction of Lvov stadium for Europe Football Championship.

As it was informed on October, 15 statement of FFU official, Ivan Fedorenko that Lvov may lose its right for hosting Euro-2012 because of its unready stadium and airport caused burst of indignation of city officials.
