Euro-2012: Poznan decided on stadium reconstruction

 Syndicate of 6 companies won bids for stadium reconstruction in Poznan, one of four major Polish host-cities of Europe Football Championship matches 2012.

 Syndicate headed by Polish Company of Hydrobudowa Polska SA gained the contract. The syndicate proposed the lowest cost for reconstruction among all the bids participants, which made 490 mln zlotys (around $ 170 mln).

The winner syndicate also comprises such companies in Poznan as PBG SA and AK-BUD Kurant, Alpine Construction Polska in Krakow, German Alpine Bau Deutschland and Austrian Alpine Bau GMBH.

Construction works will start in January, 2009 and the stadium is planned to be set in operation in August, 2010.

After its modernization stadium in Poznan will be able to seat 46.000 fans.

Earlier it was informed that in Polish city of Gdansk was started stadium construction for holding Europe Football Championship matches 2012.

Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine will create Football Fans International Data Base

Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine initiates creating of Football Fans International Data Base, as informed deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Alexander Savchenko.

Mr. Savchenko told at the moment in Ukraine is being elaborated Fans International Data Base. Within this framework are held talks with many countries in order to exchange information with Germany and other countries which have reasons to be concerned about their fans.

Alexander Savchenko has also highlighted in the first year it’s previewed information exchange only. Further on, there’s going to be created Football Fans Standard International Data Base on the Interpol basis.

Ministry of Internal Affairs has introduced bill draft supposed to make amendments to article 173 of Criminal Code of Ukraine (disorderly conduct) which preview in case of violating public order during sport events a penalty of entrance prohibition to the territory of sport events, in particular football matches, for a period of time.

Mr. Savchenko highlighted that Ministry of Internal Affairs possesses photo library of football fans who more than once violated public order during football matches. The Ministry has also acquired several video cameras for identification and warning of those individuals who had earlier committed bully actions related to hosting the matches.

Earlier it was mentioned of Poland suggesting to Ukraine exchange information about individuals involved in disorders at the stadiums during football matches within the framework of Europe Football Championship 2012 organization.

Gdansk started stadium construction

In Polish city of Gdansk was started construction of the stadium for hosting Europe Football Championship matches 2012.

Mayor of Gdansk Pavel Adamowich and State Secretary for Ministry of Sport and Tourism in Poland Adam Gersh participated in official ceremony of opening construction works at the stadium.

Company officials noted that the project developed by Rhode - Kellermann - Wawrowsky comprises 92 volumes.

Cover slabs will be made of 6 amber tints. Close to the stadium will be erected two halls, with total area of 16.000 m2. To the stadium one can get through 4 underpasses.

The stadium together with 7 ground and 1 underground level, and also additional facilities will cover the territory of 34 hectares.

Mr. Tomenko initiates investigation on Olimpiyskiy NSC reconstruction

Vice-chairman of Verkhovna Rada Nikolay Tomenko comes out for creating special Parliamentary investigating commission for Olimpiyskiy NSC reconstruction in Kiev.

At the meeting dedicated to discussing issues of budget financing of Physical Training and Sports development programs in Kiev, and also Olimpiyskiy NSC reconstruction Mr. Tomenko told of his intention to trigger creating of the commission, mentioned earlier.

According to the information from vice Speaker, State Enterprise of Olimpiyskiy NSC has signed several agreements with their contractors to the amount of 1.767 bln hryvnyas.

“This means de jure without approval by Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Economy the State contracted liabilities for about 2 bln hryvnyas for business corporations” - he said.

Mr. Tomenko underlined that reconstruction project of Olimpiyskiy NSC has become one of the most expensive stadium construction projects ever. So it’s necessary to carry out thorough control over reconstruction course and financing process.

Earlier it was informed that Ukrainian Government is planning to increase financing expenses for Olimpiyskiy.

100 mln to be allocated again for Olimpiyskiy NSC

Ukrainian Government is planning to increase financing expenditure for Olimpiyskiy reconstruction from 700 up to 800 mln hryvnyas, as informs vice Prime Minister Ivan Vasyunik.

Mr. Vasyunik has also claimed that Government has in mind to increase State budget financing of those expenditures connected with finishing takeoff-landing strips reconstruction in the airports of six cities involved in preparation for Europe Championship 2012, informs RBC-Ukraine.

Previously it was stated reconstruction of Olimpiyskiy NSC would make 1.5 bln hryvnyas.
