Viktor Yushchenko’s waiting for the answer on Euro-2012

Today runs out 20-days’ term when the Government had to elaborate and approve of the Comprehensive Events Plan 2009 for organization and hosting of Europe Football Championship final 2012. President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko’s charged the Government with such assignment on March, 2nd.

Paying visit to Ukraine this February UEFA Secretary General David Taylor ambiguously spoke of preparation process taking place in Ukrainian host-cities.

In particular Mr. Taylor expressed his satisfaction with the progress achieved during Olimpiyskiy NSC reconstruction in Kiev.

Visiting Kharkov D. Taylor said he’s amazed with Kharkov and its preparation for Euro-2012 which is demonstrated by municipal and regional authorities working as one team. As claims UEFA Secretary General, he’s no doubts that Dnepropetrovsk will be among four Ukrainian cities to host Euro-2012. In Odessa unfortunately Mr. Taylor expressed his discontent with low reconstruction pace at Chernomorets stadium.

UEFA experts assessed Lvov’s preparation with restraint, having noted that in the first place Lvov needs to construct the stadium, otherwise no Euro-2012 matches will be held in the city.

On May, 8th UEFA commission’s going to name eight out of twelve cities which are struggling to host the European Forum. Ukrainian cities are Kiev, Lvov, Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa, Kharkov and Donetsk, while in Poland these are Warsaw, Gdansk, Poznan, Wroclaw, Krakow and Khozhuw.
