New terminal in Kharkov airport will be finished in the end of 2010

Construction of the new terminal is carried out in advanced terms and it’s planned to be set in operation in the end of 2010, as reports Alexander Yaroslavsky, President of Development Construction Holding (DCH).

This was stated on Monday when mass-media officials got acquainted with construction process.

As informs the agency, hectic work is underway and steel constructions for the terminal’s first storey are being set at the moment.

A. Yaroslavsky claims that erection’s been started last fall and is progressing ahead the schedule. The terminal’s going to be commissioned in the end of 2010.

Two-storey facility will cover 20.000 m2 and its passenger capacity will reach 650 passengers per hour. During Euro-2012 the terminal will be able to admit 2450 passengers per hour.

Moreover, in order to ensure the airport capacity during Euro-2012 temporary terminal made with light material is going to be built next to the new one. It’ll be one-direction terminal for in and out coming  flights and will serve 800 passengers per hour.

Setting in operation the terminal allows increasing yearly passenger capacity from 250.000 up to 1.5 mln passengers a year.

Total investment amount on the part of DCH into the terminal construction will make 65 mln euros, reports A. Yaroslavsky.

Reconstruction of Olimpiyskiy goes as scheduled

As informs Alexander Galitsky, chief engineer of Kievgorstroy Holding Company, reconstruction of Olimpiyskiy NSC for Euro-2012 goes as scheduled with no disruption.

“There’s no delay with financing at the moment”, - cites him Ukrinform. - “We’re thoroughly monitoring wage payment issue. All the employees working at Olimpiyskiy have already been paid their salaries and some even got subsistence allowance. Average wage at the construction site makes around 2300 hryvnyas” - reports A. Galitsky.

Yesterday Olimpiyskiy stadium started its work with traditional spring celebration. With the main work in progress there was cleaned up nearby stadium territory, builders’ area, and auxiliary facilities and so on. It should be reminded that monthly, every last Tuesday Olimpiyskiy holds Open Day so that the public may get acquainted with reconstruction process at the main arena for Euro-2012 final.

Highway construction for Euro-2012 in Dnepropetrovsk

Despite of the fact that the Government allocates no additional financing for highway reconstruction and Dnepropetrovsk builds the roads for Euro-2012 from the local budget, Ivan Kulichenko’s sure that the roads will be repaired.

These days the mayor of Dnepropetrovsk city will have serious talk with the Prime Minister concerning amendments to the last-year budget rarified by the Government which haven’t been considered by Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Dnepropetrovsk hadn’t obtained 50 mln hryvnyas and the roads were repaired from municipal budget.

Even if no budget money is allocated above the budget, the city will definitely keep its Euro-2012 obligations, including the highways.

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development may provide the loan for the city. Dnepropetrovsk has good loan reputation so we can obtain the loan from EBRD in the sum of 50 up to 100 mln euros with favorable interest, taking into account it’s Euro-2012 organization program with 30-year term payout. So we’ll take loan and make the roads for the roads can’t be left the way they’re, claims the mayor of Dnepropetrovsk.

M. Platini will select cities for Euro-2012

On April, 14 and 15 UEFA President Michel Platini will come with business visit to Ukraine. The mission is to select four host-cities for Europe Championship matches of 2012, UNIAN reports. 

Tomorrow the extended meeting of UEFA officials with Ukrainian reps will be held. Presentation of country’s preparation for Euro-2012 is going to be shown, host-cities’ infrastructure in particular.

There’re six cities running to host Euro-2012. These are Kiev, Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov, Odessa and Lvov. After M. Platini’s visit  two cities will drop off the list. However this may be kept in secret until May.

Donetsk will receive 500 mln hryvnyas to repair the roads for Euro-2012

The Cabinet has approved the list of detour highways around the cities for construction and reconstruction in 2009 and their financing amount.

The general financing level for the roads construction in 2009 from State budget’s special fund will make 500 mln hryvnyas, informs an official site of the Ministry.

These means will be spent to construct and reconstruct detour roads near Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kiev and Odessa.
