National TV and Radio Broadcast Committee starts media coverage campaign

National TV and Radio Broadcast Committee is going to start “Euro-2012 organization in Ukraine” media coverage campaign after UEFA defines the list of host-cities, as reported Anatoly Murakhovsky, acting chairman of the Committee.

The campaign will be held with the aim of more effective informing of the citizens on Ukraine’s preparation for the Europe Championship and also creating positive image of Ukraine.

Within the campaign framework the data gathered on Ukraine’s preparation will be spread in Ukrainian and foreign mass-media.

Mr. Murakhovsky highlights that the intergovernmental agreement’s been signed with Polish officials on informational cooperation. The contracts are signed with National TV of Ukraine (NTCU) and Telewizja Polska, also National Radio Company of Ukraine (NRCU) and Polske Radio, Ukrinform (National Information Agency) and Polish Press Agency.

UEFA may hold on the decision on defining Ukrainian cities for Euro-2012

UEFA may suspend for the indefinite term the announcement of Ukrainian cities participating in Europe Football Championship 2012.Host-cities of Euro-2012 in Poland and Ukraine are to be announced on Wednesday, May 13 in follow up of UEFA congress held in Bucharest.

As it was expected, Polish Warsaw, Wroclaw, and Gdansk will be defined on time, while in Ukraine the cities chosen are Kiev and Donetsk. UEFA doubts that Lvov and Dnepropetrovsk can host Euro-2012 at a worthy level. Kharkov as a backup city has more chances.

UEFA will choose 4 Polish and 2 Ukrainian cities to host Euro-2012

Sources close to UEFA report that Europe Championship 2012 will be held in four Polish and only two Ukrainian cities because of the fear that Ukraine isn’t in time with its infrastructure.

According to France Press agency, Polish host-cities for Euro-2012 will probably be Warsaw, Poznan, Wroclaw and Gdansk. As it’s expected in Ukraine, UEFA is going to approve Kiev and Odessa.

Donetsk have constructed brand-new futuristic stadium for 50.000 seats but as far as UEFA experts are convinced, city infrastructure is assessed as insufficient.

UEFA is satisfied with all Ukrainian cities’ preparation

UEFA Supervisory Board expressed its satisfaction with infrastructure preparation for hosting Euro-2012 in all the six Ukrainian cities where football matches are to be held.

Such resolution’s been made in Nyon, Switzerland at the meeting of UEFA Supervisory Board with participation of vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Ivan Vasyunik, Football Federation of Ukraine President Grigory Surkis, Euro-2012 in Ukraine director Markiyan Lubkivsky and director of Coordination Bureau for Europe Football Championship 2012 organization in Ukraine Ilya Shevlyak.

According to FFU press-agency the participants of the meeting analyzed progress achieved by the six Ukrainian cities in infrastructure preparation to host the Championship. Special attention was drawn to the stadiums, airports, National transport system and optimal solution for infrastructure and guests accommodation issues.

While discussing the situation at the strategic course of Euro-2012 objects preparation Ukrainian officials have confirmed guarantees of the Government and host-cities concerning the obligations taken.

UEFA Supervisory Board satisfied with Ukraine’s progress

Supervisory Board of UEFA expressed its satisfaction with infrastructure preparation to host Euro-2012 in all the six cities of Ukraine, where football matches are to be held.

As reports the press-agency for Football Federation of Ukraine, such decision was stated by UEFA experts on May, 8 at the meeting of UEFA Supervisory Board. The participants of the meeting held in Nyon, Switzerland were vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Ivan Vasyunik, Football Federation of Ukraine President Grigory Surkis, Euro-2012 in Ukraine director Markiyan Lubkivsky and director of Coordination Bureau for Europe Football Championship 2012 organization in Ukraine Ilya Shevlyak.

Earlier on May 7th, Polish edition of Gazeta Wyborcza made public the information stating that Euro-2012 final matches will be held in ten Polish and Ukrainian cities, while it was planned 8 host-cities before.

The edition cites the source of Football Federation of Poland (PZPN) and informs of such resolution to be announced by UEFA Executive committee at the meeting next Wednesday on May, 13.
