Yushchenko accuses the government of financing failure in Euro-2012 organization
President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko accuses the government of actual failure in financing of works related to country’s preparation to host Championship final of 2012.
It’s been declared on Wednesday in Kharkov at Constitution amendments presentation to university students and professors.
” No Euro-2012 is possible when 2009 budget stipulates 4,5 bln hryvnyas from Equalization fund, and it’s been actually donated 330 mln hryvnyas “, - claims the President, having emphasized that finances from special-purpose and Equalization fund can be allocated only in case of budget’s revenue fulfillment instead of deficiency”.
“Half of the year’s already behind and we’ve only obtained 1/11 of the annual plan “, - President expresses his indignation.
Besides V. Yushchenko emphasizes it’s been previewed to allocate 2,5 bln hryvnyas for transport infrastructure financing while by May, 20th it was allocated 30 mln hryvnyas for roads reconstruction including Kharkov-Kiev highway.
The President has reminded of his meeting with Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko where he brought into focus the need to stir up efforts for worthy preparation of the country to host the Championship.
“It isn’t the European style and the country which undergoes last technical mission with UEFA’s executive committee on November, 30th has actually nothing done for the last 5 months from the point of view of state financing of key regional infrastructures” - V. Yushchenko highlights.
It was informed that Kharkov city authorities plan to address to the Cabinet of Ministers with the proposal to finish academic year one month before Europe Football Championship 2012 starts.
