Dnepropetrovsk sets in operation first power installation for Euro-2012

On December 29, 2008 Dnepropetrovsk put in commission  “Slavuta” substation intended for power supply of newly built and reconstructed objects in the central part of the city, as inform information agencies.

“Slavuta” is the first power station in Euro-2012 preparation program in Dnepropetrovsk. Its total cost reaches 77 mln hryvnyas.

The station’s capacity comprises of two transformers 40 MVA with 150106 kV voltage.

“Slavuta” is supposed for supplying 22 new large residential and office buildings.

The experts consider substation a unique object in Ukraine, according to its engineering data, where power installations of such quality haven’t been introduced since USSR collapsed.

Reconstruction of Olimpiyskiy NSC in 2008 poured out in…

Olimpiyskiy NSC reconstruction expenses for Euro-2012 made this year 260 mln hryvnyas.

On December, 24 according to the agreements signed by Olimpiyskiy NSC with contracting agencies and in accordance with acts drawn in due course, the works are carried out at the amount of 180 mln hryvnyas. It’s expected by the end of the year to finish certain works to the tune of above 17.6 mln hryvnyas.

Aiming to provide production process continuity and create necessary conditions for accomplishing reconstruction in the early 2009, State enterprise of Olimpiyskiy NSC is allowed to fulfill prepayment of building and construction works at the amount of 60 mln hryvnyas in 2008.

Also design work over pipelines and networks transportation outside stadium development territory will be sponsored at the rate of 2.3 mln hryvnyas.

Ministry of sport states that the mentioned funds totally satisfy to the expenditure amount set by the Government, which was previewed in 2008 to finance Olimpiyskiy reconstruction.

Euro 2012.Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Olimpiyskiy NSC.

Cabinet of Ministers approved of the up-front money in the amount of 62.3 mln hryvnyas for design, building and construction works of Olimpiyskiy NSC reconstruction in Kiev due to financing from National budget of 2008. This was stated in Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution dated December, 17.

Expenditures are going to be made at the basis of Olimpiyskiy NSC reconstruction feasibility study ratified by Government’s resolution dated November, 19.

Earlier it was informed 300 mln hryvnyas has already been spent for Olimpiyskiy NSC reconstruction in 2008.

Stadium construction in Warsaw slows down as holidays approach

In Poland’s capital were halted noisy construction works in the National stadium for the period of Christmas and New Year holidays from December 23, 2008 up to January 5, 2009.

Works delay became possible thanks to advance in construction schedule, as informed in PL 2012 Company which coordinates preparation of Poland for hosting Euro-2012.

“That’s for our residents living next to the National stadium. Hammering in the piles may terribly disturb them” - told Janush Kublinsky, vice-President of the company for Construction Affairs.

According to PL 2012 data, at the moment 64% of the work with 48% scheduled is already carried out.

Earlier UEFA announced registration for purchasing media rights to broadcast Europe Football Championship 2012 matches which will be held in Ukraine and Poland.

UEFA announced bids for broadcasting Euro-2012 matches

UEFA announced registration for purchasing media rights to broadcast Europe Football Championship 2012 matches which will be held in Ukraine and Poland.

The companies interested in winning the rights can send their applications till January 20th, 2009. Additional information on the bids process will be provided for them later, informs RAR.

UEFA’s convicted when media rights for Euro-2012 are sold it can gain as much as it gained for the Championship hosted by Austria and Switzerland.

“We’re sure like it was with successful Championship in 2008, the next one will bring at least similar profit” - says UEFA press-secretary Rob Faukler.

UEFA’s planning to sell media rights for Euro-2012 to the most appealing European countries such as France, Germany, Italy, Spain or Great Britain.

UEFA made profit of EUR 250 mln for the last Championship. Total turnover reached EUR 1.3 bln, 750 mln of which was gained through selling rights for broadcasting matches on the TV, Internet and mobile phones.

As states Mr. Faukler, Europe Football Championship ranks third in the world after World Cup and Summer Olympic Games for the number of sport events’ spectators.
