Euro-2012: Khozhuw may replace Lvov

The representative of Polish Euromonitor organization Mihal Kobosko has declared situation with construction of new arena in Lvov can become the reason why Polish Khozhuw can take place of Lvov as the basic city for Euro-2012.

“Stuation in Ukraine is very unstable, and this increases chances of Poland and Khozhuw for the organization of Euro matches “, - has told Mihal Kobosko. The basis for such statement of Euromonitor activist is claim of Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) that Lvov may lose the right for organization of Euro-2012 and absence of progress in stadium and the city airport construction.

In the meantime, in Khozhuw was presented final part of sports object. Construction should be finished by the end of 2011. “Only then the stadium will become the best arena in the country. The plan of works provides reconstruction of the western stands as a result fans’ evacuation from stadium will take not 17 minutes, but no more than 10 minutes”, - told Marek Scherbovsky, director of Polish arena.
The question on stadium construction in Lvov still remains open. After German Alpine Bau Gmbh company has refused to participate in project in the beginning of October, there was further information, that the stadium will be built by Azovinteks company, however no details yet. This uncertainty also became the reason for Poland to find substitute city to Lvov as a place for carrying out Euro-2012 matches
