First National Channel of Ukraine applied to broadcast Euro-2012

First National Channel of Ukraine sent to UEFA application to obtain rights for broadcasting matches of Europe Football Championship 2012.

As says President of National Ukrainian TV Channel Vasily Ilaschuk, First National Channel is the member of European Language Union and it’s the holder of priority right for obtaining similar TV rights in Ukraine.

At the same time Mr. Ilaschuk supposes other Ukrainian channels would also desire to compete for broadcasting Football Forum. Though yesterday was the deadline when UEFA was receiving applications for Euro-2012 broadcasting rights, none of the leading Ukrainian TV Companies confirmed information of its participation in the contest.

Tender terms in particular and rights cost for matches’ broadcasting remain in secret. All the necessary documents, detailed information on the contest and tender opening announcement will be offered to TV companies only when UEFA admits channels to the bids.

First National Channel was the holder of rights for broadcasting football matches of Euro-2008, purchasing of which has cost to the Channel EUR 4 mln.
