Krakow announced bids opening to construct two underground parking lots

The bids contest was announced in Krakow to construct two underground parking lots close to the local stadium of “Vistula for Euro-2012″. The bids winner’s going to get the sites in 39-year concession in exchange for financing construction of underground parking for 571 and 495 parking spaces, as informs UKRINFORM’s own correspondent.

In accordance with the City public infrastructure and transport management plan, parking will be set in operation by the end of 2010, early 2011. Total investment cost is estimated 100-130 mln zlotys ($ 31-40 mln).

It’s supposed to create around 4.000 spaces for underground parking in the city center. Most of them will be located next to “Vistula” stadium where Euro-2012 matches are to be held.

ASCAN Company, Spain has already been building underground parking for 600 spaces in Krakow. Its investment cost makes 63 mln zlotys (about $ 20 mln) and its completion is previewed by the end of 2009. ASCAN will get the parking in 70-year concession as construction is being financed from its own funds.

According to UKRINFORM, Krakow and Khozhuw are two Polish cities from the backup list to host Europe Championship 2012.
