Formal opening of the main Polish Euro 2012 facility - National stadium in Warsaw, which is scheduled on 29th of January, may fail. One of these days the fire engineering service and Regional Inspectorate of Building Control in Warsaw (PINB) refused to issue a permit for carrying out public events. The experts of control services proved their decision by unreadiness of the ground for football field.
The Warsaw city authorities, considering the summary of control boards, prohibited carrying out the opening concert on the National stadium. But the authorities of the arena have a few days more to eradicate defects: the question of the stadium's fate will be resolved this Friday on January, 27th. "If all defects are corrected and building inspection approves the object, the city council will surely change its decision", - the director of Warsaw Security and Crisis Management Bureau Eva Gavor assured.
And the Minister of Sport and Tourism of Poland, Joanna Mucha who is in charge of preparation of the country for European football championship, has no doubts that inauguration of National Stadium will take place in time. "The event scheduled on 29th of January will take place. Nothing will prevent it from carrying out. Now the commissioning of last facility elements continues. I'm ready to bet that the opening ceremony will take place. Otherwise I'm ready to run round the National Stadium, Palace of Culture or something else", - the minister noted.
Both the press secretary of Warsaw city authorities is sure that on Friday the arena will gain the essential permission. "I don't worry about failing the event. There are not so complicated things which couldn't be corrected", - he underlined.
It is worth noting that the National Stadium in Warsaw, where the opening ceremony of football championship will take place, already deserved the title of the most problem Euro 2012 facility. Its construction began in 2009 and was to finish two years later: in June, 2011 the inauguration ceremony was scheduled. Though the experts of control services revealed a range of defects then, which were made during the construction of the arena. Among their number was the fact that the stairs leading to basin of the stadium were built with some defects.
After promising to correct all the defects the authorities of the arena of Warsaw put off its opening on the 30th of November, 2011. Though at this term the National Stadium didn't succeed in receiving the occupancy permit either - only in the middle of December the Inspectorate of Building Control approved the maintenance of Euro-arena except for the football field which was not ready at that time.
It is to be recalled that on the 11th of November in the National Stadium of Warsaw the first match for Super cup of Poland between "Legia" (Warsaw) and "Wisla" (Krakow) is to take place. And a friendly match between the teams of Poland and Portuguese is scheduled on February, 29th.
