Poland and Euro-2012
Marcin Herra, director general of PL-2012 company, responsible for Euro-2012 preparation in Poland told in his interview to Correspondent, Ukrainian magazine,
how Poland avoids serious problems while preparing for 2012 Europe Championship.
“What is essential in Poland is that absolutely everything is clear: everyone’s responsibilities, management and monitoring system is defined. One of the important priorities set by us is cooperation with 6 cities (holding the matches – ed. note)” – stated Marcin Herra. One of the crucial issues concerning the adequate preparation for Euro-2012 Marcin Herra considers having clear program for final Championship preparation.
“We initially adopted it as a business-project. The master plan was a result of tedious three-month work, the essence of which was that all the cities, companies that construct roads, firms responsible for infrastructure, railway and airports’ development have planned the investment infusions and the way it should be implemented. So we have every week up to 2012 scheduled with the projects” – noted Mr. Herra.
“The story isn’t about some gigantic ideas for 2012, it’s only about specific actions. Thanks to this we can rather accurately react to emerging problems without any lofty phrases on what we have good or bad. In every project management the main is to approach the goal step by step” – claimed the director general of PL-2012.
Contrary to Poland in Ukraine Euro-2012 preparation is managed by several rivaling agencies at the same time.
